Instructions

Wash and rinse sama rice thoroughly. Drain well.

In a heavy-bottomed pan, boil milk. Add rinsed sama rice and stir.

Cook on low flame, stirring occasionally, until the rice is soft and milk thickens (about 20 minutes).

Add sugar (or jaggery after cooling), cardamom powder, and mix well.

Stir in almonds, cashews, and raisins. Simmer for another 3–4 minutes.
